Benefits of ToeGrips® for Dogs

Dogs use their toenails for traction. But hard nails can't grip slippery floors.
Toe grippers for dogs are the natural solution because they:

  • Provide instant paw traction for dogs on hard-surface flooring
  • Don't require gluing to your dog's nails
  • Are made for indoor/outdoor use
  • Can be worn all the time
  • Only need to be replaced every one to three months

If your senior dog is slipping on hard floors, you may be feeling helpless. But now, there's an easy solution to help stop your dog from slipping on floors once and for all: ToeGrips, the original dog nail grips.

ToeGrips are essential

ToeGrips are a must-have for our spaniel who is elderly and can’t hold herself up on the wood floor without slipping unless she’s wearing her ToeGrips.

Amazing is understatement

She went from skipping on her toes to putting 90% of her weight on her bad leg as soon as I put these on! No more wipe outs on my hard floors and she’s excited for walks!

No more slipping on the stairs for Sammy!

I tried the ToeGrips. Since then—and it has been almost a month—no more slipping, even with lots of snow during that time (Illinois), and the ToeGrips stayed in place even with him going outside to potty!

Helping my Pom a ton!

Once we put these grips on two weeks ago, she’s about 98% better—able to run and keep her feet under her! They’ve stayed on the whole time too—wonderful!

Harley’s success story

Harley, my 14 yr old pug, could not walk on our tile floors without falling several times a day. Harley can now maneuver throughout the house without falling.—we have even seen him run a time or two.

Daisy has never been more active

Our 10 year old beagle has had a hard life unfortunately with horrible arthritis and spine issues. ToeGrips have changed her life as she is a constant mover now—I dearly wish I would have found these sooner.

Don’t wait!

He was given a medication which caused ataxia and my poor old man could barely move without falling over. They provided the needed stability to prevent him from falling. It was truly amazing.

Frequently asked questions

How quickly do ToeGrips work?

The non-slip nail grips fit onto your dog’s toenails to enable instant traction on hard-surface floors and stairs.

How long do ToeGrips dog nail grips last?

ToeGrips® dog nail grips typically last 1-3 months, two months on average. “Mileage” will vary based on your dog’s size, environment, and gait. The more abnormal your dog’s gait, the faster ToeGrips® dog nail grips will wear.

Will my dog chew these off?

Most people assume this is a common scenario, but 97% of dogs do not bother with or chew at their ToeGrips® dog nail grips. In fact, most dogs don’t even seem to notice them, which makes sense because ToeGrips® dog nail grips sit on the poorly innervated nail tip, as opposed to covering skin/soft tissue of the paws and paw pads.

As a veterinarian, ingestion was one of Dr. Buzby’s primary concerns years ago when bringing ToeGrips® dog nail grips to the marketplace. She consulted with several colleagues, including surgeons, about this issue and everyone agreed that based on the size of dog and size of corresponding ToeGrips® dog nail grips, they should pass right through a dog’s GI tract. To date, that has always been the case. Furthermore, ToeGrips® dog nail grips are FDA-certified non-toxic.

18 Yr old girl is happy!

Our Sophie just turned 18! Many days she had trouble keeping her legs under her. We felt helpless watching her slide around.
These toe grips have definitely changed her quality of life! So happy that we found these!!!
The first pic shows her struggling before using the toe grips. Second photo shows how she now walks with confidence!

One of a kind product!

Agnes, our Pug, was born with spinal kyphosis which makes her unable to use her back legs. We have hardwood in most of our house, and it was difficult for Agnes to get around. We tried boots, socks, you name it. Then, I found toe grips, and we’ve never looked back. We’ve been using toe grips for several years now, and we are a regular subscriber. There is nothing like them on the market. They changed everything for Agnes!

This product works

I got these for our geriatric GSD who has osteoarthritis in his spine and knee. He no longer falls down and can’t get up on our hardwood floors. He moves around a lot more again after gaining confidence back with the toe grips. They get a 5 for performance but a 4 for longevity. A few fell off within the first 12 hours. We put the last extras we had from the packet but lost 2 more immediately. I wish there was a more secure way to keep them on.

I am so happy that your senior GSD is doing better on your hardwood floors with ToeGrips. It's wondeful that he no longer falls down! I am also so happy that you took the time to express both the positive and the negative in your ToeGrips experience because we can absolutely help you! The most common reason for what you describe--ToeGrips falling off right away--is that they are too big. May I ask what size you purchased? If we confirm that the size is correct, then my second thought is that the osteoarthritis in his spine and knee are causing him to drag/scuff his paws and 'popping' the ToeGrips off. As you know, our standard method of application is the friction fit--where ToeGrips fit snugly and cling to the nail tips without glue. However in cases like yours, I would absolutely recommend using super glue to keep the ToeGrips reliably in position and resolve this issue you're having. We'd be delighted to confirm with you that you have the correct size, send you a replacement package of ToeGrips, and include a sample of glue so that you can give this a try. I'm very optimistic that we can keep these ToeGrips on securely! Please reach out to our customer care team via email, text, or our social channels and we will make this right for you. Thank you!
Most sincerely,
Dr. Julie Buzby

Toe Grips

My 11 yo French Bulldog’s confidence and her traction has improved greatly. Gracie’s running and playing w/our other 1 yo Frenchie pup. My disappointment is that the toe grips come off rather easily. I’ve purchased my second pack and will see how it goes from here.

Thank you for your honest review. I'm so glad you took the time to provide feedback because I'm confident we can help you troubleshoot and have a better experience. It's possible that the ToeGrips are a size too big (and if so, we're happy to ship you a replacement pack at no additional charge.) Alternatively, you can use a bit of super glue to keep them in place reliably. This is not our standard method of application, but for some dogs who have a severely altered gait, proprioceptive deficits (neuro issues), etc, it can be very helpful and eliminate this problem. Please reach out to our customer service team via email, text, or social channels and we will be delighted to help you with this concern. Thank you again,
Dr. Julie Buzby

Finnegan can stand upright on linoleum and hardwood floors again!

I bought ToeGrips for Finnegan, my 17 1/2 year old Lhasa-Poo. He can still walk and run and jump up on our couch from the carpet, but his inner thigh muscles are getting weak and his back legs would often slip out on smooth surfaces like linoleum or hardwood flooring, making it increasingly difficult for him to stand up from lying position, or even stay upright. ToeGrips gives him enough traction to stay upright even on smooth surfaces, and he really doesn't seem to notice them. He loses one or two of them every other day or so and about half of the ones that came off I find around the house later on, although the other half are just gone. When he loses 2 or 3 I put them back on or replace the lost ones, about twice per week. This has been a great investment for the quality of Finnegan's life!

Amazing product

I was skeptical, but my nearly 16 year old dog is walking normally immediately after putting on the toe grips. I am telling everyone I know about them.

They Really Work

They really do work. It's a game changer. The only issue is I had trouble finding the right size for my dog. Her breed doesn't exist in the list of questions. I think I need to size up a bit.

Amazing Product

Our home has hardwood floors throughout. We have a nine year old 100 lb chocolate Labrador retriever, Tucker, who partially tore his left hind ACL two months ago. Our vet suggested using something to cover his nails to make it easier for him to get around. A friend gifted us with a set of Dr. Buxby’s ToeGrips and they worked great. I contacted Jaimie and Katie, from
Dr. Buxby’s ToeGrips Customer Care Team, and they were awesome in getting me started and offered great advice/suggestions on sizing, application, fitting, etc. I was able to return, even though they had been worn, the ToeGrips that were too large for Tucker and get a different size that fit him much better. Jaimie and Katie even followed up with emails and phone calls throughout the period Tucker was adjusting to his ToeGrips to make sure everything was going smoothly. Dr. Buxby’s ToeGrips are an awesome product and I highly recommend them if you have hardwood floors and you want to make your pet’s life a lot easier/better, you won’t be sorry! I thank you . . . and so does Tucker🐾🟠

Top notch experience

I ordered the toe grips for my dog who is skittish about our LVP floors. The order and payment process was easy, and the order came in a timely manner. The toe grips were relatively easy to install, although we had to be liberal with the peanut butter. Unfortunately are dog was too active and most of the toe grips fell off within the first 12 hours. We lost too many to try again, and I wrote it off as a failed experiment. After a few days I received a follow up email from thr Dr. Buzby company and voiced my disappointment. After a brief conversation they agreed that the product wasn’t a good fit for my dog and voluntarily refunded the full cost. I hadn’t actually asked for my money back but they explained that they believed in their product and stood behind their guarantee. I was very impressed with the company and the process, even if the product wasn’t suited to our particular pet.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with ToeGrips. I'm so sorry that ToeGrips were not the right product for your dog, but I'm so glad that you felt the genunine love and concern we have for our customers and their dogs. We are a small, family-owned company and our reputation means everything to us. Thank you again for sharing your kind story.
Wishing you and your dog all the very best,
Dr. Julie Buzby

Finally, something that works!

Jules, our American Eskimo tried just about every bootie and sock on the market. Jules has luxating patellas and struggles on our vinyl floors. She REALLY hates people touching her toes, so it was a bit of a struggle keeping her still enough to get them on, but we did it. And I’m so glad we did. It was an INSTANT change in her ability to control her movements.
She doesn’t seem to mind them at all and hasn’t tried to remove them.
