Proper application is key for safety and success. Watch our short video tutorials to see how.
Wet 16 ToeGrips in isopropyl rubbing alcohol, which acts as a lubricant for application.
Stabilize the toe and press the wet ToeGrip onto the nail tip.
Push the top and sides of the ToeGrip into place using your fingernails or fingertips until the nail tip is exposed and the GripZone is created.
The bottom portion of the ToeGrip shouldn’t be pushed up the nail because it must contact the ground to provide traction.
Repeat step 2 and step 3 for all 16 nails.
ToeGrips should fit snugly and must contact the ground at the GripZone to provide traction.
If the GripZone is not created on the bottom of the nail tip, ToeGrips can’t provide traction.
Rarely, ToeGrips can ride up the nail and cause harm. Monitor daily and adjust as needed to prevent this.
Applying ToeGrips with glue is not necessary for most senior dogs.
However, it is recommended for dogs who have trouble keeping ToeGrips on, especially:
We recommend Scotch® Super Glue Gel.
Practice applying ToeGrips according to the How to Apply ToeGrips section before applying with glue. Then remove and re-apply with super glue.
Place a dab of super glue inside the hole of the ToeGrip.
Quickly squeeze and release the ToeGrip to spread the glue on the inside wall.
Push the ToeGrip onto the nail and quickly position according to the instructions under How to Apply ToeGrips.
Like any product for our furry family
members, ToeGrips should be used
under supervision.
To break the bond of the glue, work around the top edge of the ToeGrip with your fingernail and then peel the ToeGrip downward off the nail. If residue remains on the toenails after removal, you may apply your next set of ToeGrips right over it.
