ToeGrips for dogs: Reviews

ToeGrips are essential

ToeGrips are a must have for our spaniel who is elderly and can’t hold herself up on the wood floor without slipping, unless she’s wearing her toe grips, Toe grips are truly a blessing and we keep them on repeated order!

Amazing is understatement

My 10.5yr old had a bad acl repair in November, second surgery in February, and her leg atrophied 9cm since she hasn’t put full weight on her leg since November. Until the ToeGrips! She went from skipping on her toes to putting 90% of her weight on her bad leg as soon as I put these on! Her elbows don’t bow out and her gait is relatively smooth now. No more wipe outs on my hard floors and she’s excited for walks! I don’t have to carry her up and down the stairs anymore either.

No more slipping on the stairs for Sammy!

After our old terrier mix, Sammy, slipped a couple of times on the stairs–both going up and down–and even on the level wood floors in our house, I tried the ToeGrips. We measured his nails as per directions, got the medium size, and were able to apply them easily. It helps that he is an easy pup to work on! Since then—and it has been almost a month—no more slipping. We also had lots of snow during that time (Illinois), and the ToeGrips stayed in place even with him going outside to potty! I just signed up for a subscription to get new grips every 5 weeks.

Helping my Pom a ton!

My 8 year old Pom was not able to get traction on our hardwood floors and was slipping and her front legs were splaying out even when she was just standing. Once we put these grips on two weeks ago she is about 98 percent better and able to run and keep her feet under her. They have stayed on the whole time too! Wonderful. We are so thankful!

Harley’s success story

Harley, my 14 yr old pug could not walk on our tile floors without falling several times a day. He has a weak back and arthritis in his hips. After applying the toe grips the difference was remarkable. Harley can now maneuver throughout the house without falling. We have even seen him run a time or two. Thank you so much for your product from Harley and me! Just placed my second order!

Daisy has never been more active

Our 10 year old beagle has had a hard life unfortunately with horrible arthritis and spine issues. She has a horrible time standing and walking on any smooth surface for the past few years. I didn't want something that would stick or I would have to apply with glue in fear of it falling off or being licked off. ToeGrips have changed her life as she is a constant mover now. I dearly wish I would have found these sooner.

Don’t wait!

Before I got around to putting them on, we had a terrible incident where he was given a medication which caused ataxia and my poor old man could barely move without falling over- it was heartbreaking. The morning this happened, while awaiting the callback from our vet, I remembered the Toe Grips and quickly put them on. Although they didn’t help with his loss of coordination, they provided the needed stability to prevent him from falling. It was truly amazing.

Excellent Product

We moved into a new home that has hardwood floors. Our girl, Kaiya (Great Pyrenees) wouldn’t walk on the hard floors, and when she did, she would slide around. We were so worried she’d hurt herself. These toe grips were a game changer. Kaiya walks everywhere now. We will definitely be ordering more. I highly recommend!

“5 stars! The BEST product out there!”

How do ToeGrips dog nail grips work?

All natural for instant traction

We understand how frustrating it is to watch your dog slipping and struggling on hardwood or smooth floors. We care and we can help. We’ve helped thousands of senior dogs just like yours.

ToeGrips are all-natural nail grips that fit on the toenails of each of your dog’s paws for instant traction on slippery surfaces.

Better gripping means less slipping

Dogs use their toenails for traction. They flex their paws and engage their nails like soccer cleats digging into the ground.

But hard nails can’t grip hard floors. ToeGrips dog nail grips work by allowing your dog’s toenails to grip smooth surfaces like hardwood floors.

1. ToeGrips fit on the toenails of each of your dog’s paws.
2. The non-slip nail grips enable instant traction by creating a “grip zone” between the toenails and hard- surface floors and stairs.
3. With better grip, your dog has instant freedom and newfound confidence.

Frequently asked questions

How quickly do ToeGrips work?

The non-slip nail grips fit onto your dog’s toenails to enable instant traction on hard-surface floors and stairs.

How long do ToeGrips dog nail grips last?

ToeGrips® dog nail grips typically last 1-3 months, two months on average. “Mileage” will vary based on your dog’s size, environment, and gait. The more abnormal your dog’s gait, the faster ToeGrips® dog nail grips will wear.

Will my dog chew these off?

Most people assume this is a common scenario, but 97% of dogs do not bother with or chew at their ToeGrips® dog nail grips. In fact, most dogs don’t even seem to notice them, which makes sense because ToeGrips® dog nail grips sit on the poorly innervated nail tip, as opposed to covering skin/soft tissue of the paws and paw pads.

As a veterinarian, ingestion was one of Dr. Buzby’s primary concerns years ago when bringing ToeGrips® dog nail grips to the marketplace. She consulted with several colleagues, including surgeons, about this issue and everyone agreed that based on the size of dog and size of corresponding ToeGrips® dog nail grips, they should pass right through a dog’s GI tract. To date, that has always been the case. Furthermore, ToeGrips® dog nail grips are FDA-certified non-toxic.

It's a miracle

I just received the Toe Grips. You just changed my dog's entire life!!!! I only have 2 on her so far, one on each back foot, because her nails are very uneven, and already she's walking better than she has in 2 years!!!! I'm serious, she's nearly normal. I shed tears to see her NOT struggling on the tile floor!! Thank you for inventing such a wonderful and miraculous product!!

The Sheltie circles are back!

My 13yo Sheltie is still a happy, healthy girl, but she loves to wrestle with the 7mo puppy. Rough housing on tile is never a good idea, and my old girl would get stuck and need help getting back on her feet. Putting the toe grips on was quick and easy - and my girl can trot and spin on the tile floor again! I'm so thrilled!

Great Purchase

Bought these for my 85 pound diabetic rescue. We have wood and tile floors throughout the house. Recently he’s been struggling with the stairs. Chester has always slept upstairs on our bed at night. He’s been falling on the stairs, and I’ve been petrified helping him up and down. I finally put the gate up at the foot of the stairs, because when we aren’t here, I worried he’d lose his footing and be stuck trying to go up.
So, I found this website. They arrived 2 days ago. Based on the directions, they were easy to apply on the ol’ dog. He doesn’t seem to care that they are on his feet, and Chester is making it up and down the stairs pretty well. If this can keep him going for a bit longer, we are happy to have made this purchase.

Lifesaver

My seven pound Pom lost the lottery structurally speaking. She has had surgery for a congenitally dislocated shoulder (either due to genetics or a tough birth.) This problem interfered with her gate so her knees were both at a 4, the highest impact on the scale. She had surgery for one of the knees in January 2023. I have all hardwood floors, so she was very fearful of walking on them. Slipping hurt her knees. I got them put on her the day she was released to normal activity, six weeks after surgery. It was a lifesaver. She is still a bit afraid of walking, preferring to walk on my area rugs, but she CAN do it! This is important because she uses pee pads to go potty. She has to make the journey! I am attempting to get her groomer to apply the toe grips. I will speak to her next Tuesday at her grooming to see if she is willing. I think it would be the least traumatic way for Bijoux. She’s had enough trauma in her six years of life.

"There's no way these will work on my dog" "He will eat them right off his toes"

Everyone is shocked that they actually work - especially on our neurotic, toe eating dog. He does not try to chew them off and he can run and play on our hardwood floor again. I wish I had taken the time to measure both his back and front toes before ordering because the toe grips on his back feet do fall off where as the front ones stay on. Before I order another batch I'm going to take the time to measure them. He has worn them for about 3 weeks now and he is very happy with them as we are also. I still can't believe they work, they really do work!!!!

Incredible difference

my dog has severe arthritis/bone cancer. She has been massively struggling when getting up on the laminate flooring. I ordered these just to try, had zero expectations that it would actually help and I am so glad I was proven wrong. I ordered her xl based on the weight chart, tried them on her and it wasn’t the correct size, without hesitation the company emailed me to exchange for the larger size and told me she may or may not need both, if she doesn’t send back what doesn’t fit and they would donate them to a dog in need(how amazing and compassionate!). Luckily the larger size was perfect! But they were correct she did need up needing the xl for a few toes and the xxl for the rest. I offered to pay for the additional pack they sent and they told me no just give her hugs. I was mind blown by the customer service alone. As for my dog: she gets up soo much easier, they do not bother her at all…I don’t think she even notices them. It has helped her tremendously. They were also super easy to put on. These are worth every penny. And the customer service is unmatched. I only wish they had more color options for each size but it’s no big deal

Great product

These little things were so great for my Lola. She was very unstable on our hardwoods, and they made a real difference for her. Unfortunately she only had them for two days as she passed last week. I’d recommend for any older dog that lives with hardwoods.

They work!

Typically I'm a skeptic but needed to help my 105 lb, 13 yo guy, Whiskey. They're working like a charm and so easy to put on ( size XL). He doesn't seem to notice they're on. You won't be disappointed!

Game changer for my senior!!!

My dog is a boxer mix. She will be 15 in December. She could not get up off of hardwood floors on her own. These have changed her life she can get up she can walk around without sliding like she’s on Glass. She has back leg weakness as well. We have a lot of rugs down but still she was having troubles. I can’t believe these things there a miracle for my dog. I would encourage anyone is going through this with their senior to buy these. They are amazing.!!!

Great for my dog and for customer service.

I first ordered medium toe grips based on my dogs size and since she still goes for trail walks, they kept coming off. I didn’t know that it can also be a sign they are just too small. The customer service team explained that to me and sent me new grips at no cost! Wow! The new large size is staying on much better! Thank you!
